Weekend Food Drive Clerks

Food Drives are a great day for youth and families to help support the warehouse in getting food in and out for those in need! Help us in receiving food donations by unloading, weighing and sorting food bags. Families welcome, children ages 12 and older please. Parents, please plan to accompany your children for youth service. *Due to Covid, we have a limited number of shifts. If you are unable to register, the shift is full. Please try another date. Refugee Youth Mentor

Overview //

Help refugee youth navigate their new communities as a mentor! Mentors will help their mentees with professional development, academic guidance, and civic engagement.

Amdist CDC advisement to limit person-to-person contact, we are suspending in-person mentoring but continuing with virtual mentoring by phone, FaceTime, and zoom. Now is a great time to join the team! We can process your paperwork remotely and offer resources and training to work with your mentee. Participants in the program are still attending online classes, completing college applications, seeking new and creative ideas for employment, and more. Mentoring is critical now and always for our program participants. Thank you for considering joining the Mentoring Youth in Virginia team.

Virtual ESOL Teacher

Overview //

Teach English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) from the comfort of your own home! We are currently recruiting teachers for our SPRING 2021 SEMESTER who are comfortable with technology and are interested in conducting lessons to adult language learners over an online platform.

Lesson plans, curriculum, and training for online teaching best-practices will be provided. No foreign language proficiency is required. Volunteers are asked to commit to teach one class per week for a twelve week semester.

MS Access Database Administrator

Overview //

St. Lucy Food Project seeks a volunteer with Microsoft Access programming skills to provide monthly reporting using our proprietary database. The database tracks monthly food distribution to pantry and distribution locations across the Diocese of Arlington. It identifies who delivered the food and to which pantry, county, and region it went, and tracks performance against regional goals. Responsibilities will include:

Monthly data entry using existing templates containing delivery data

Processing these entries in an existing MS Access database

Providing reports developed in this database

Volunteer must be willing to make a regular (monthly) commitment for a minimum of 6 months and be highly proficient with Microsoft Access. Interview and background check are required.
