In partnership with the Cohen Career Center, we are in search of alumni in sustainability fields who will provide a brief interview to W&M students in regards to their career path and experience. The interview is made available as a podcast on the Career Center's website.

Talk with science students interested in the pharmaceutical industry. Provide information, advice, and perspective as a science professional in the pharmaceutical industry. Conversations can take place via email, phone, or video. Interactions can be one time or multiple times, and can be determined by you and the student.
Approximately once a month the Alumni Association features an alumnus/a on its official Instagram account by letting them post photos and captions in their own words about their W&M experience and current 'life after W&M.' Featured alumni must submit 3-5 photos/videos and captions. Past examples can be viewed here.
The W&M Career Champion program is a strategic initiative that strives to connect students with alumni willing to help students and other alumni as they navigate their career search and explore new opportunities. This program is a vital part of growing the W&M network in DC and other key national and global markets where our alumni live and work. The Cohen Career Center is seeking volunteers with experience in non-profits or government service to come to campus to give a talk to current students about their career path, current challenges in the field, or tips for starting a career. Meetups typically last an hour and are a casual conversation with students presenting your experience and answering student questions. Presentations are not required, but acceptable. A schedule of the dates and times for 2018 can be found under the "View Schedule" button.Please note that only one volunteer will be selected, so applying for the shift does not guarantee that you will ultimately serve. Cohen staff will review all applications and make contact when they have made their decisions.
The Parent and Family Council (PFC) is a select group of parent volunteers who serve as the advisory board to the Division of Student Affairs at William & Mary. Members participate in targeted development and outreach activities, provide parents' perspectives to senior College administrators, and support the College financially at a leadership level. They attend special parent outreach functions and encourage other parents to become involved in ways that support the College's priorities. Members provide feedback during conference calls of the Council's three subcommittees (Philanthropy, Career, and Community Engagement) on a quarterly basis. At the biannual PFC meetings, members meet faculty and administrators in small group settings, provide helpful feedback, and learn about College initiatives and priorities. CONTRIBUTE time, talent and treasure to support William & Mary- Make a minimum annual gift of $10,000 to the Parents Fund.- Encourage others to support the College by identifying, meeting, or soliciting parents.- Attend bi-annual PFC meetings and share opinions on College initiatives.- Join at least one subcommittee focusing on one of three key areas: Philanthropy, Community Engagement, and Career. PRESENT the College's vision to those inside and outside the university community- Serve as ambassadors and advocate for William & Mary whenever possible.- Host and attend parent receptions, dinners, lectures or other gatherings. FOSTER the education and enrichment of William & Mary students and families- Help the College identify and secure career opportunities (jobs, internships, shadowing) for students, and help identify other opportunities for students.- Engage with your local William & Mary Community, welcome new families, and become resources for other parents. SERVE on any of the Parent & Family Council Subcommittees:- Philanthropy Subcommittee: Members nurture a culture of philanthropy and work with staff to assure that all donations of time and money are respected and honored.- Community Engagement Subcommittee: Members nurture a culture of connectivity and belonging among William & Mary families, and welcome new families to the Tribe.- Career Subcommittee: Members foster recognition that William & Mary's community provides many opportunities for mentorship, career development and growth, and the hiring of Tribe students and alumni for full-time employment, internships, and externships.
As students are becoming more and more digitally minded, it's still a great gesture to receive a handwritten note. William & Mary is a place that believes in a personal touch. Please join us as we send handwritten notes to newly admitted students.
Tribe Heralds help generate positive energy about William & Mary online. The purpose of this volunteer role is to extend William & Mary's reach across multiple social networking platforms by utilizing the volunteers' personal online communities. Heralds will be provided with content which they can copy directly to their social media platforms on a monthly basis or tweak to fit their own voice and audience.
